Moldavite is a type of tektite that
formed from a meteor impact. It is a
natural glass with a bottle green color.
Named after Moldau, in the Czech
Republic.

Labradorite is a type of feldspar, usually
dark black or grey, with iridescent colors
that change with the angle that it's viewed.
Labradorite is named after where it was
first found, Labrador Canada. It is a
mixture of 30% albite (NaAlSi3O8) & 70%
anorthite (CaAl2Si2O8).

Chrysoprase is a type of chalcedony with nickel giving it its color. The color is moisture sensitive with the
color fading as it dehydrates. These cabochons are cut from Australian chrysoprase, which is considered
to be the best quality.

only known minesite is in the Dominican
Republic. It's named after a Dominican
woman and the Spanish word for sea.

Variscite is hydrated aluminum phosphate (AlPO4.2H20). Since it's structure involves water, its color can change
with dehydration and heat. It's also porous so oils will also affect the color. It has been used as a replacement for
turquoise. It has been found in central Europe. Significant quantities have been found in North America in the Nevada
- Utah area. Variscite gets it's name from Variscia, an old district in Germany where it was first found.
