Turquoise [CuAl6(PO4)4(OH)8*5(H2O), Hydrated Copper Aluminum Phosphate] is another gem mineral
that is found in north east Iran, Afghanistan, eastern Australia, China, Tanzania as well as the south
west U.S. The common blue color of turquoise changes to green above 480 degrees Farenheit. The
color can also be affected by oils, loss of natural water content, or other harsh environmental elements.
Typically turquoise contains a matrix which adds brown, dark grey, black or other colors (pure blue is
rare). The name turquoise means "Turkish stone" due to the trade route that it was brought through to
Europe.
